Because of the possibility of a large amount of waste the conversion of timber is a very important subject for the craftsman supplying his own wood. William Brown treats this area very carefully and offers remedies of the many pitfalls encountered in the economic conversion of wood. Subjects covered include the best methods of converting and getting the most from your log; using a chainsaw set-up to convert logs and small trees directly for the user; and how to season your wood and protect it and properly store it.
