A 1st edition (F&R colophon on the copyright page) of the fifth Nero Wolfe mystery. No DJ. Bright red boards w/black lettering. Dark green top stain. Minimal wear to the boards & pages. There are a couple of light scratches to the rear board - a 1.75 x 2" "T" and 3.375" diagonal one below it. PON & date on the front paste down (Nora A Pitts (?) Nov, 16, 1963 Portland Oregon) and FFEP (Elsa Robertson 1938 C Edelan (?)). The book is protected with a mylar sleeve. A very good copy of classic early Nero Wolfe 1st.
