A scarce, first edition copy of this correspondence between Sir robert Wilson and the electors of Southwark. Wilson became an MP for Southwark and became a Radical. After Queen Caroline's supporters became unruly at the funeral leading to soldiers firing shots over the heads of the crowd. Wilson intervened stating 'It is quite disgraceful to continue firing in this manner, for the people are unarmed.' Wilson was dismissed from the Army following this intervention.This work was written following his dismissal and some of the letters concern this.With a leaf of publisher's adverts to the rear.A scarce collection of correspondence.
