Chromolithograph advertising cards for Singer Sewing Machines illustrating costumes from around the world and various models of machines. places and costumes illustrated are India(2), Ceylon (1), Japan (1 with small tear at corner), Zululand (1), Portugal (1), Hungary (1), Italy (3), Bosnia (2), Tunis (2), Algeria (1), Spain (7), Roumania (2), Netherlands (1), Norway (2), Sweden (2), Servia (2), Manila (1), China (1). No duplicates. These were likely issued for the 1893 Chicago exhibition. Included, is a newspaper article from 2002 about another set and a couple of pages of other research about these cards. Other information suggests complete sets have 36 or 50 cards, but Singer may have grouped them different ways to give away or sell. Overall, a very good to near fine collection of 33 cards with colorful images intended for advertising. Note: due to size and weight, shipping outside the USA or priority shipping will be less expensive than an average book.

Shipping terms
Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs within the U.S. are for media rate. If you need faster service please inquire. Large, heavy books or sets may cost more to ship and we will notify you of that before commitment. Insurance is included for items over $201. Less expensive items generally not insured. Buyer should request and pay for insurance for these if the risk of loss or damage in shipping is uncomfortable. International shipping costs have increased significantly in recent years. Please be prepared for a high cost. Shipping rates given are for an "average" book. Large or heavy books or sets will normally cost more - we try to note when more expensive shipping costs are likely in the description, but sometimes fail to do so until an order is received. This mainly applies to international shipping.
