Courting The Future : Preparing For A Different World :

Many people see the future merely as an extension of the past - more people, more technology, more wars. This book doesn't start there. The author opens up a vital, new proposition...to court the future, to partner it, to create with it. The original essays, beautiful illustrations and meditations in the book evoke a future you may never have conceived of yet. Essays such as "A Vision of the Future" and "Whatever possessed you to do that?" are truly mind opening journeys, whilst "When Nothing Satisfies" and "Why Worry?" promote the letting go of that which prevents the future. Highly reflective, eminently practical, thoroughly enjoyable and a natural sequel to his previous book, the acclaimed 'Why is the Human on Earth?' Mark Ballabon is a natural philosopher and author, nominated for a prestigious 2015 Kindred Spirit Award and whose books have received high rated reviews around the world.

CYGNUS REVIEW (December 2012): "This beautifully illustrated and inspiring book will make a fantastic gift for anyone who cares about releasing the full potential of human beings and of our planet. Mark's wise words and meditations encourage new hope in us and enable us to release ourselves from past distress and obstacles so that our natural genius is freed to co-create a new beginning: a future bright with what we long for, and not tarnished by what we don't. WATERSTONES BOOKSELLER REVIEW: "Thought-provoking and far-reaching, this book by turns will cause the reader to be inspired, be meditative, be thrilled, be challenged and ultimately be moved by the kind of questions and considerations that face all of us today. Take it in small doses, an essay or a piece of poetry at a time, for the author is here bringing up issues that deserve more than a shallow read. The kind of book to leave out on the coffee table so that your friends can share in the dialogue that is bound to be provoked." FEATURE EDITOR, TIMES group North London: "Courting the Future is a series of 26 essays that offer an extraordinary insight into the future by Mark Ballabon, a writer and natural philosopher from Potters Bar. Designed for all those who instinctively feel that the future that is coming is different to that suggested by our current world of economic, social and moral free-fall. Courting the Future is a philosophical yet practical guide that aims to help you start thinking in completely new ways about the future. Moving through such subjects as 'why worry?', 'why nothing satisfies', 'transforming conflict' and 'humility', the book captures people's inherent search for meaning and purpose in their lives."
