The Courtship of Miles Standish by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. First edition, first printing in original dark brown cloth. Publisher: Ticknor & Fields, Boston, 1858. First printing with word treacherous on page 124, line 3. Also containing the advertisement of Waverly Novels tipped in with the endpapers. Binding is in near fine condition. Very slight wear at the top and bottom of the spine and at the corner tips. Contents are clean, bookplate on the pastedown, glue residue to second free endpaper, Owners signature at the top of the title-page, else one of the nicest copies I've seen. 215 pages plus 12 pages of ads in back dated October, 1858. 5 x 7 � inches. Protected by Mylar. Inventory #23-260. Price: $1,250.
