Creative Canvas Work

Creative Canvas Work by Elsa S Williams. Published by Van Nostrand Reinhold Co, New York, NY, 1974. 1st Edition 4th Printing. No DJ. Oblong. Condition: Nr Fine. 64 Pgs. LCCN 74-141443. This book's emphasis is on fostering creativity in your needlework, however, there is no lack of basic information regarding the necessary yarns, needles, duo- and mono-canvases, canvas frames and rods. Painted canvases and ready-worked pieces are also discussed as beginning projects. There are additional chapters on joining canvases to enlarge the work, and on blocking the finished pieces. Included too, are hints on adapting designs from museum pieces, on reproducing early American heritage work, and on working the famous, historical patterns of Bargello or Florentine canvas work. Photographs show some of the manifold uses of canvas work in making rugs, handbags, chairseats, footstools and pillows. Description text copyright 2006 BooksForComfort. Item ID 12147.
