The Cretan, Elisabeth Ayrton, Hodder and Stoughton, 1963, First Edition, First Impression Set in Crete, this is the story of Arkas, a man between two worlds. The dust jacket has been designed by the author's second husband Michael Ayrton. In near fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the spine bright. There is a small crease mark to the top corner of the front board. The end paper and pages are free from tears and inscriptions. There are marks to all the edges. The top edge retains its original yellow tint. The unclipped dust jacket is in good condition with wear to the corners, a small tear to the top edge of the front cover, a small nick to the bottom edge of the front cover, nibbling to the top and bottom edges of the spine, a tear to the top edge of the back cover (This has been repaired) and nibbling to the top edge of the front cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box. Seller Inventory # 03768
