Introduction by T W Garrett, who toured England with the 1878 Australians. No date indicated but, per Padwick, it was published in 1935. Seven chapters: The origin of the game; The evolution of the game; Kent and Hambledon; The foundation of Lords [sic] and the MCC; Development of bowling, the round-arm struggle; William Clarke and the AEE; and Evolution of dress and equipment. Nicely illustrated. Poor condition overall: Stains and marks on front cover; nicks and wear, with some losses, to both covers which are held to the stapled booklet with adhesive tape; a few stains and many marks internally; rear cover likewise marked, browned etc. Poor condition but a scarce title.
