Introduction by John Arlott; 27 pp. of text at front discussing Vanity Fair, the cricketing caricatures, the history and spread of the game; 4 appendices at rear; illustrated with full-colour reproductions of 37 cricketing Vanity fair prints, plus those of Ape (Carlo Pellegrini) and Spy (Leslie Ward); also reproduces each man's Jehu Junior biography. A fine copy in original green boards, lettered in gilt on spine. Pale yellow pictorial (Lord Hawke on front W.G. Grace on rear) dust jacket fresh and clean; tiny crease near lower rear spine.
