Apparent First English Edition (NAP, 'Printed on the Presses of Editions D'art Albert Skira 15 February 1968' ). Hardcover with dust jacket and cardboard slipcase. Part of the series titled Art Ideas History. You can see the covers of the book in the photographs. You should be able to see that there are two colors on both the front and rear. I don't know whether or not the book was produced with that pattern or if the original color changed in time. Perhaps it does not matter, the covers look fine. The gilt lettering on both the front and spine is nicely bright. The spine ends are in excellent shape. The cover edges and corners are in excellent shape as well. The page edges are perfectly clean. The book is square and the spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in exceptional condition. The pages are very clean and bright. Scrolling through, I didn't find any instances of soiling. I found only one page with a thin crease off its outer edge, far from the print. There are no placeholder creases. There are no markings. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. There are a great many tipped-in color illustrations. They all appear to be in perfect condition. There are also several fold-outs with black and white drawings, also in excellent condition. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It looks very clean. I don't see any tears. There is a tiny scuff off the bottom edge of the front. There is very slight wear at the top edge of the front and spine. You can see the black wrap-around off the bottom edge. It comes around the flaps. It's in excellent shape. The flaps are very clean, no tears or creases. The jacket is price-clipped at the front flap's top corner. There are no other clips. The jacket will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. When I purchased the book a good number of years ago it came with a simple cardboard slipcase. The slipcase is in solid condition. It has one very small tear at one edge and a small amount of superficial surface wear.
