For each season, she includes an alphabet and a band sampler; for each month, there is a floral garland design along with small cross-stitch motifs relating to typical events of the month. For June, for example, there are Father's Day and June bride designs, as well as Winbledon, Le Mans, and fishing motifs. Cross-stitch border and alphabet designs are interspersed throughout. Verso's small, stylized motifs can be mixed and matched in literally hundreds of design combinations. Full-color graphs and clear instructions make for a book that should circulate often in public libraries.
