Croydon's tramways had all the characteristics of those of a provincial town. A private company operated horse tramways from 1879, and from 1901 the extended electric tramways were operated partly by the Corporation, and partly by a private company. Later joint operation of the principle route by the Corporation and London County Council, and absorbtion by the LPTB from 1933 until the final closure in 1951 are recorded in this volume Included are the routes and variaed stock with much hitherto unpublished material. This book is in exceptionally FINE condition with no marks, inscriptions or marginalia having been kept in a glass fronted book case in a smoke free home since purchase. Ref N7.
