C. Tiffany, name on bp of Col. Daniel Appleton, important officer for the Regiment, served in Spanish American War, associated with the Sloop Brooklyn as officer (see Army/Navy Journal, 19 May 1900, p. 900). Member of distinguished Appleton publishing company who presented this book to the Library. Vessel commissioned in 1858, served in civil war, 341pps, front gutter repaired. Nice associations.
