Book by Kanter, Corinne C.
Corinne C. Kanter recently introduced her latest book: The CRUISING K.I.S.S. Cookbook. Designed for cruisers, it is, as her earlier works, especially suitable for busy people on the go!
K.I.S.S. stands for "The Keep It Simple System." While some may snicker and think of other rhyming epithets, it was Thomas Jefferson who first created the KISS principle in designing our US coinage system. Corinne, a fan of dear ole Tom, pays homage to him in her first book, "The Galley K.I.S.S. Cookbook."
Corinne writes cooking columns for two magazines, Corinne's Culinary Corner for MULTIHULLS Magazine and Cooking Aboard for Living Aboard Magazine. THe theme of her columns, like the theme of both her books is: Delicious, Nutritious, Economical and Convenient. Wholesome food, properly prepared is the mainstay of her culinary philosophy. She is well aware of nutritional as well as epicurean food requirements and has an extensive vegetarian section, lite section among other sections! in her book. Being a long-term cruiser with her husband who is always fishing, it is only natural that she has a chapter on seafood and fish preparation, handling and storage.
Aside from her two cookbooks and magazine columns, she found time to co-author with her husband a book titled: "The 13th Trip and Other Sea Stories." In this anthology, the title story starts at Faro Blanco Marina in Marathon, Florida Keys and terminates in Annapolis, Maryland. It is a true story about a trip un the Intra-coastal waterway. The other stories are also true, but the names are changed to protect the guilty!
She is a SSCA Rear Commodore, belongs to several local sailing clubs, lectures extensively at many popular boat shows and is a volunteer for many local events. It is not unusual to see her out with her husband Charles, on their catamaran sailing yacht, La Forza, taking part in local events or just cruising.
Selling her cookbooks has transformed her life. Her first cookbook, The Gall! ey K.I.S.S. Cookbook, now in its sixth printing, became the best selling nautical cookbook ever. She expects the new book: The CRUISING K.I.S.S. Cookbook, to far surpass it in sales.
