Includes preface by the author for the 1922 edition and translator's note concerning the author's help with the translation. Original cloth with dust jacket. Near fine copy in very good dust jacket. Book very bright and clean, free endpapers browned near gutters, very light foxing, lower tips of boards little worn. Dust jacket very slightly worn at top and bottom of foldovers to inside flaps and slightly chipped at top of spine panel affecting a few letters in the word "Crystal," which is right at the top of the spine panel. The book has the World War II-era ownership inscription of an American airman with his serial number and squadron on the front pastedown, and on the spine panel of the dust jacket is an increased price sticker of 11'6 (11 shillings 6 pence) with the legend "Including extra war costs."
