This work is a charming and imaginative narrative poem set in the picturesque landscapes of the Hudson River Valley. An early example of American Romanticism, Drake's evaocative descriptions and lyrical verses transport readers to a mystical world where nature and magic interwine. The editions include: 1. The Culprit Fay (1st Edition. George Dearborn:1835, in publisher's deluxe binding, front hinge loose). 2. The Culprit Fay (Van Norden & King:1847, full red leather, front hinge tender, INSCRIBED "For Samuel Lover Esq., with kind regards of George C. DeKay. Drake's daughter Janet posthumously and against Drake's wishes published the poem; DeKay was Janet's husband and in whose name this new edition is copyrighted). 3.
