Four stories of the old west: "Three Old Plainsmen" by Robert Bruce about drivers of ox teams in the west before the railroads; "Initiation of a Bullwhacker" by Albert H. Baiseley describes the proud moment for a New York boy on the plains; "Echoes of the Old West" by George W. Stokes recounts a "hossman's" recollections of more than 60 years including the rise, height and eclipse of stage coach travel and wagon freighting; and "A Frontier Episode" by William Francis Hooker and A.
