309, 311p., rubricated titlepages, presswork on good clay-coated paper throughout, matching red buckram boards backed with red leather on which titling gilt. Endsheets are a garish faux-marbled red cut from light cardstock. We see no damage to any leaf whether a page of illustration or one of text. However, the backstrip of volume I is roughly detached (the remnant is laid in), leaving the spine binding-surface looking grim. Even so, though slightly weakened, both front and rear hinges are holding well, without gaps or tears to the endpapers. Lower corner-tips show a bit of card. Volume II is in altogether better condition, with just little losses at the top and tail rims. Even the corner-tips are free of wear. The set of two volumes, as-is.
