Taboris" with the motto "Studio et vigilantia". This is the physician Charles James Tabor (b. 1864). Wharton Jones is today best remembered professionally as ophthalmologist and physiologist, but is probably best known as a notable anti-evolution writer. Small white number on spine and small accession label on pastedown, slight rubbing, faint wear at head of spine else sound VG with clean text with some marginal lining and underlining probably by Tabori.
