(1949). First edition. With an autobiographical introduction by the artist and a foreword by A.E. Richardson. Mild wear to the extremities, pale soiling to lower front cover, else near fine, in a lightly age-toned color-pictorial dust jacket with a couple of very insignificant grease pencil marks to rear panel. A nice copy. One hundred forty-eight of the eminent architectural draughtsman's exquisite drawings are herein reproduced, seven of them in color; among the subjects treated: the cathedrals, houses and churches of England, as well as buildings and scenes in Europe.
