Original Japanese bindings, minor wear to extremities and occasional marks. A few small notes written in French to the cover of the last volume. Title plates in nice condition (only two small tears to the margin of the title plate of v.1). Small cataloguing sticker to the foot of each title plate. Volume numbers written in Japanese on the foot of the text block. Hanko to the title page of each volume. A history of the `creation of` the country of Japan, including many important events and characters, from Yamato Takeru (Prince Osu) to the Mongol invasion of Japan (Genko), with many faintly coloured woodblock illustrations.
