Daily St. Louis World's Fair program for Saturday, November 26, of particular note as President's Day, with events and schedule for President Theodore Roosevelt's visit, from his arrival at 9:00 A. M. to exhibit stops (Government Building, Philippine Exhibit), kickoff of the Carlisle-Haskell football game, parade & military salute, luncheon, fireworks. Carlisle (Pennsylvania) and Haskell (Lawrence, Kansas, still extant) were "Indian" schools which had never before met on the football field. Also includes musical programs The Berlin Band, conducted by von Blon; Weil's Band of St. Louis, Sixth U.S. Infantry Band, organ recitals), details of the fireworks ("Alladin's Jewelled Trees", "Shells of Cometic Rains", "Fire Portrait of President Roosevelt"), U.S. Army field hospital drill, Artillery Corps drills, U.S. Life saving drill; map of the Fair, map of the Philippine Exposition, plan showing attractions and amusements of The Pike, a side show with cafés, exotic animal performances, shooting gallery, foreign attractions, Temple of Mirth, On the Bowery, Deep Sea Diving, "Old Plantation, 15¢; scenes in the cotton fields; negro songs and dances."; three performances of the Boer War Program. While printed souvenirs of this Fair abound, the Daily Programs are scarce, particularly for this notable day. Stapled pamphlet, color covers.
