The 1891 Chilean Civil War was fought principally over the division of power between President and Congress with the congress victorious. Hervey was sent to cover the revolution by the Times, which then recalled him when his reporting showed a strong bias towards the administration of its president, Balmaceda. Included in the Biblioteca Nacional's Memoria Chilena bibliography of La Guerra Civil de 1891. Includes 15*b/w illustrations. xii+336pp. Three-quarter bound in red leather with gilt lettering to spine and black cloth to remainder. Endpapers have been renewed.
