A very clean and crisp copy, handsomely bound in finely woven reddish brown cloth stamped in gilt lettering on the spine. Despite some scattered foxing to the preliminary pages, the text is very clean and tight throughout; virtually unread. With light dust-foxing to the bottom edges. In the original pictorial dust jacket featuring a courtroom scene. With the original price of 3/6 Net printed on the bottom of the spine and at the bottom right corner of the front panel. With toning to the spine and light wear and chipping to the top and bottom of the spine ends. A pleasing copy for the collector. From the author who brought us Lost Horizon (1933), Goodbye Mr. Chips (1934), and Random Harvest (1941) and each inspired successful film adaptations, comes a novel of psychological suspense. It's the story of Phillip Monsell, a man who seems doomed to failure in everything in life that he attempts. Made into the 1941 MGM film, Rage In Heaven that starred Robert Montgomery, Ingrid Bergman, George Sanders, Lucile Watson, and Oscar Homolka. First Edition with "First Published in 1925" on the copyright page and no subsequent printings listed. 1st Edition. With "First Published 1925" on the copyright page. …
