First edition thus (preceded by the 1945 hardcover release) first printing of a near fine hardcover with minor wear to the spine, and pages toning, in a very good dustjacket with wear to the extremities, small chips and creases, with a bit of loss to the spine. The 5th novel in the Duncan MacLain mystery series, blinded by gas in WWI, working as a P.I., assisted by his wife Rena, and friend Spud Savage, operating in New York City NY USA.
