Add to basketHarper & Row, 1967, New York. Hard Cover. Book Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. Stated "FIRST EDITION", assumed first printing due to the absence of any printing history. 9-1/2" tall, 710 numbered pages includes "Appendix I: Words of President Kennedy which were to have been read at his graveside by Senator Edward M. Kennedy"; "Appendix II: Words of President Kennedy which were to have been read at his graveside by Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy"; "Appendix III: Jacqueline Kennedy to Nikita Khrushchev, December 1, 1963"; "Appendix IV: Chronology (Eastern Standard Time)"; "Sources", eight pages of maps and diagrams and "Index"; plain blue cloth covered boards with gilt lettering on spine, front board is plain; front end pages has a chronology of events, November 20-25, rear end pages have a map of the route of the state funeral of November 25, 1962; fore edge is not trimmed. The book is in Fine condition and nearly pristine: the exterior is square, very clean, corners and edges free of bumps and dings, head and heel of spine lightly pushed in; hinges are reasonably tight and not damaged in any fashion; lower corners show slight wear, and head of spine has a very thin strip of fading. Except for an inked name / date/ city on the back of the FFEP, the interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Paper is very lightly toned and is very flexible. No distortion of the book from reading or improper shelving; pages are tight and clean with no marks. Jacket is also in Fine condition and nearly pristine: it is clean; 1/2" tear at top rear gutter ridge and a horizontal crease which originates from that tear; no folds and only minor darkening along the top edge; no fading of the dark blue front and spine; no bumps on corners or edges; publisher's original price of "$10.00" listed on the upper right corner of front flap. Jacket had masking tape, since removed, along its upper and lower edges, up both folds and along the entire spine; that tape has had no effect on the binding but has caused slight darkening most noticeable on the top edge of the rear panel; dust jacket is now in protective mylar cover. Condition of book and jacket consistent with being used and gently read. No other discernible or objectionable faults on book or jacket such as marks or writing within, stains, tears, chips, or other damage that would diminish its appearance. No remainder mark, no other previous owner markings or inscriptions, not price clipped, not a book club edition, not a former library book.
