New York: Holt, Rinehart & Winston, 1960. Stated First Edition. Good/Very Good. Stated First Edition in original unclipped dust jacket. Clean white boards with green and black lettering on spine. Tiny bump to one corner, long fine crease to paper covered front board. Binding is tight and square, pages are clean (tanned). 246 pages. Clean jacket is not price clipped, has a few shrot closed edge tears, small chip at base of spine, enclosed in new archival quality removable mylar cover. Murder mystery by the author of "Trial by Slander." The eight guests at Caroline Butler's dinner party knew each other intimately--too intimately. They knew whose husband was straying, whose wife was dissatisfied, who was in the money, who was slipping. But when the one they whispered about the most was brutally shot in her hostess' bedroom, small talk ceased and polish gave way to panic.
