Mustard cloth boards with gilt Lonsdale crown insignia show a light dust mard on cover ends. Matching mustard buckram cloth spine with gilt titles straight as are board tips. 255 pp heavy stock text clean and tight with 45 b/w photographs. Prize dedication handwritten on fep states: Baker Memorial Prize presented by the Buckram Beagles to Barbara Bush April 1953. Unclipped dj in new mylar has two chips at head of backstrip but title still clearly legible. Former owner has made some small ink notes on dj flaps and one on rear cover. Section 1 on Beagling written by C.B. Shepherd, Master of the South Herts Beagles and includes: The Hound/ Kennel Management/ Hunting/ Hares. Section 2: Basset Hounds written by Miss Ena Adams. Section 3 on Harriers written by The Earl of Stradbroke. Section 4 on Drag Hunting written by Major-General Geoffrey Brooke, D.S.O., M.C. Section 5 on Otter Hunting begins with a chapter on The Otter, written by The Earl of Coventry. The remainder of this section is entirely by Captain L. C. R. Cameron and includes: Otter Hunting, Its History and Antiquity, 1175 To The Present Day/ The Science of Hunting The Otter/ An Otter Hunting Establishment/ A Survey of Otter Hunting Countries/ A Glossary of Otter Hunting Terms/ An Otter Hunting Bibliography.
