A Defence of Theological Ethics from the Hulsean Lectures, 1964 by G. F. Woods. Being six lectures delivered in the Divinity School, Cambridge in the Lent term of 1964. First edition in unclipped dustwrapper. The Hulsean Lectures were established from an endowment made by John Hulse to Cambridge University in 1777. The subject of the lectures was originally to be "The evidence of revealed religion; the truth and excellence of Christianity; the prophesies and miracles; direct or collateral arguments; the more difficult texts, or obscure parts of Holy Scripture". David A. Palin's ink inscription dated 1968 to front pastedown. In a cloth binding with unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, in a lovely condition with only minor shelfwear. Dustwrapper has only slight handling marks and very minor edgewear. Internally, firmly bound. Generally bright and clean throughout. Fine. Seller Inventory # GEN23-D-14
