Volume II surveys particular subjects in the history of Delaware with a focus on ethnic groups, religion, ducation, health, transsportation and social services. Of special note are individuals sections on African Americans, Native Americans, Jews, Italians, Poles and Finns. These include a short but provocative chapter by C.A. Weslager on the state's Nanticoke peoples and the so-called "Moors" of Delaware. An individual of mixed racial heritage might be have been classified as a Delaware "Moor". Weslager gives a detailed -- if repellent by contemporary standards -- description of the presumed ethnicity and characteristics of the Delaware "Moors," Green cloth, 479 pages, illustrated.
