First edition. 2 volumes. 4to. pp.xii, 445 [1]; vi, 360. 25 plates: 2 engraved maps and plans of Ceylon and Columbo. 5 engraved plates (1 hand painted with a sepia wash). 18 aquatints, similarly tinted (2 folding). Contemporary half calf (offsetting to titles, paper lightly embrowned, occasional spotting, a nice, tight copy). Beautiful books.
