This topographical work is organised from a series of letters written to Romantic poet Robert Southey by Mrs. Bray (Anna Eliza Bray), an English novelist and author of Travels in Normandy,Fitz of Fitzford,The Tabla, and more.The scarce first edition of this work.Complete in three volumes.Including numerous in-text illustrations.Including four pages of publisher's adverts to the rear of Volume II.Handsomely and uniformly bound in full calf.Containing the bookplate of Martin Burdock to the front pastedown of each volume. Handsomely bound in full calf. Externally, very smart, with just light shelf wear and light rubbing to the spines, joints, and extremities. Internally, front hinge is lightly strained to Volume I, remaining binding is firm.
