First Edition printed in England. Bound in black cloth with title in bright gilt on the front cover and spine. Spine has faded. Slight wear to the spine caps and corners. Name of previous owner neatly penned on the ffe. Otherwise, the book is clean and unmarked. Binding is firm. The author was a British soldier and scholar who served both the United Kingdom and Jordan and was Commander of the Arab Legion during the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. The events in this classic book took place between 1921-1930 in what is now Saudi Arabia. Illustrations include 12 maps and 8 photographs; one is of the Meeting of the Kings on the H.M.S. Lupin -with King Feisal I-and King Abdul Aziz Ibn Saud. 352 pp.
