First edition, 2000 copies printed, 8vo, pp. [2], 58, [2]; illustrated by Varro's design students' art which "visualizes" musical motifs and forms in two colors; original cloth-backed pictorial boards, dust jacket; near fine throughout. Designed by Herbert Pinzke, instructor at the Institute of Design, Illinois Institute of Technology. Binding by Elizabeth Kner. This is the first book published by Apprentice House. "Apprentice House has been founded as a cooperative non-profit effort in publishing. The books to be published will consist of small editions about cultural and educational activities in the arts and related subjects" (jacket blurb). The founders of Apprentice House include Alfred E. Hamill, Albert Kner, Robert Hunter Middleton, Joseph C. Graves, and Philip Reed who printed the book. Varro's work to be limited to 2000 copies. Previous folds.
