Soon he finds himself in the middle of a conflict between local ranchers and a Texas cattle company with plans to move into the area, buy up the small ranches, and set up an enormous spread. The conflict is complicated by the fact that Shelby, on the side of the locals, finds himself falling in love the young woman who owns the Texas company.
