A few years ago, a case in Morgan County Circuit Court involved an expert witness who specialized in analyzing children's drawings, looking for signs and symbols of child abuse. The field at the time was unknown to many people, but now parents, teachers and others can get a crash course through a new handbook, Detecting Child Abuse.

This is an excellent resource for those of us who work with abused children (or children from high risk families) but do not have any formal training in the assessment of children's drawings. Very thorough and practical!
