Uncorrected proof copies of the first editions of three novels by English author and poet Peter Dickinson: The Devil's Children, The Green Gene, and The Blue Hawk. Very scarce uncorrected proofs of three works by the author, who won a number of awards for his children's fiction.The first work is the 1970 novel 'The Devil's Children', in which the population suddenly turns against Machines and adopts medieval superstitions. A twelve-year-old girl subject to this fear is adopted by a band of travelling Sikhs who are immune to this hysteria.With vignette illustrations by Robert Hales.The second work is the 1973 novel 'The Green Gene', an amusing satire about racial prejudice, set in a dystopian England, whose population is afflicted by a gene that gives some babies green skin.The third work is the 1976 children's novel 'The Blue Hawk', set in an imaginary ancient kingdom, where powerful by pernickety gods are withdrawing their magic from the world.With vignette illustrations by David Smee.With the label of the 'Science Fiction Alpha Library' to the front wrap of 'Devil's', and the inscriptions of F. Alpha and SFA to the half title. In the publisher's original paper wraps. 'Greene' in excellent condition, and exceptionally bright. Handling marks to 'Hawk' and 'Devil's' wraps.
