Blind decoration with gilt edge front and back. 5 raised bands on spine, gilt outlined, gilt titles on spine. 29 x 22 x 6cm. 560 pages all 3 sides colour decorated. Ditto e/ps. Contents 'Founded on that of Dr Samuel Johnson as edited by the Rev. H.J. Todd'. Condition: Vol 1 Part 1 cover scraped baseon spine. Back cover of this volume, part of leather top near spine has had a mishap, triangle area come off at some point and has been restuck down, not that professionally. This volume also has cut out newspaper obituary info on the author.Every volume has a personal period ownership label of Edward Henry Mainwaring Sladen a Landed Gentry Reverand. Also wear top and bottom of spine and cover corners. Otherwise little wear, the odd age spotting, tight binding, good colour, super set. VGC. Please note heavy item and may incur extra postage.
