This humorous piece of work was created as a result of the collaboration of three ex-military servicepeople. Eric Partridge was a lexicographer who served in the Army Education Corps and the RAF correspondence department during World War Two. Patridge edited the work. Frank Roberts contributed his knowledge of army slang and Wilfred Granville presented naval slang from their careers. This work contains a list of this slang, described as vivid, allusive and sometimes obscure. With a foreword and introduction by the editor.
