Popular dictionary that continued in print for a number of years. This is a reprint of the 1857 revised edition which was also largely re-written. Robert Welbank Macaulay was in the service of the Honourable East India Company hence the inclusion of tropical diseases. 735pp. Book is in original blind-stamped cloth with title in gilt. Sunned to spine and partially to boards. Rubbed to spine with wear to corners. Soiling to rear panel. Inside, dark patches to brown endpapers. Paper cracked to front hinges. Clean and in good order. A decent copy. Weight 1.2kgs. Please enquire for overseas postage.
