4to. 27cm, un-paginated (over 1,000 pp.), triple-column, in contemporary tree calf boards rebacked in on laid brown fabrikoid, original crimson morocco label replaced, inner linen hinges, armorial bookplate, very good (Lgc). Italian art critic, Joseph Baretti (1719-1789) based his dictionary on Delino's Spanish and English Dictionary which he credits as the first edition. A friend and colleague of Samuel Johnson, Baretti drew on Johnson's Dictionary for much of the English part.
