Paper-covered boards, backed in morocco, gilt-stamped ornament direct in spine compartments (5 raised bands), gilt-stamped lettering in leather spine labels in second and third compartments; complete set of 5 volumes, 8vo; pp. xii, 704, plus 3 folding plates; [2] (title-p., blank), 658, plus 3 folding plates; [2], 651, plus 4 folding plates; [2], 629, [3] (approbation), plus 2 folding plates; xii, 559. All volumes: Spine a bit dry, scuffed or very lightly chipped at tips; boards scuffed; corners and edges of boards lightly chipped. All are internally clean and unmarked, with the bookplate of M. De Saint-Amand, D. M. P., Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur on front paste-down. Volumes 4 and 5 are thinly cracked at joints, but holding just fine. An excellent working set. Difficult to find complete.
