502p + errata page octavo. A very good copy bound in full calf. Front inner hinge cracked, rubbed and wearing along the extremities but a very good sound copy. Thomas Settle's copy with his ownership signature on the inside front panel, plus a small leather label with his name that he affixed to the base of the spine. Thomas Settle's (1831-1888) Settle was elected member of the North Carolina House of Commons 1854-1859, a Captain in the Confederate States Army, appointed by President U S Grant to a seat on the US district court for northern district of Florida and later becoming a US Senator.
