About the Author

Marc Frattasio grew up in Hyde Park and Hanover, Massachusetts. Frequent Sunday morning trips to the Readville yards as a child during the late 1960s sparked an enduring interest in the New Haven Railroad. An active member of the New Haven Railroad Historical and Technical Information Association since the late 1970s, his writing is often featured in the group's "Shoreliner" magazine. Marc is an avid collector of New Haven Railroad artifacts with an emphasis on advertising, dining car department material, signs, and anything that features the McGinnis era "NH" logo.

After graduating from Hanover High School, Marc enlisted in the United States Navy where he earned his aircrew wings and accumulated several thousand flight hours as an electronic warfare systems operator on Lockheed P3 "Orion" maritime patrol aircraft. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he attended Bridgewater State College where he earned a bachelor's degree in management science and Boston University where he earned a master's degree in computer information systems. He is employed as an information systems technologist with a Fortune 500 company.

Marc lives on the South Shore of Massachusetts with his wife Faith and their five cats. He is a private pilot and loves aviation as much as railroading. This is his second book, his first being "The New Haven in the McGinnis Era", which was published by White River Productions in June 2003.
