Add to basketStated first printing of this somewhat uncommon and early novel from American historian, professor, and author, George R. Stewart (1895-1980). Stewart is perhaps best known for his Sci-fi classic,Earth Abides, which was published in 1949. Doctor's Oralis a novel of university work and life in a college town, which draws on Stewart's experiences as a professor of English at UC, Berkeley. . 8vo, 259pp. Illustrated endpapers, title page in two colors. Blue cloth with black and gilt illustration and lettering, top edge stained black in jacket. Spine cocked, few small bits of paper remnants to front endpage, where bookplate was removed. Jacket with a few small edge tears, light stain to middle of spine, else nicely preserved and very good.
