The plates carry the imprint Fisher Son & Co and dates varying between 1838-46. 1860s? binding in embossed mauve cloth, the spine titled in gilt. The spine ends neatly repaired. Some signs of use to the binding but the contents are clean and tight. Endpapers present, hinges intact, text block remains mostly well-bound, but gutter splits fore and aft. The preliminary 18 pages are title page (London, Printed for the Publisher, no date, with cp blank) + 8 plates printed one-side only (plates stating: Fisher & Son, 1841). Last page of index has instructions for placing/distributing throughout the book these 8 plates as well as a frontis that is missing & absent from this copy. One of the eight plates is loose and has a tear at the gutter edge affecting one image. Text is tanned/age discolored with occasional smudges, edge problems. Some foxing incl tp + writing and small scribble ffep & pencil scribbling to some of the plates. Titled spine only w/ titling darkened.
