First hardcover American edition, with dust jacket, published by Viking, 1968. Young adult fiction about the Finchberry-White kids, who try to help a friend, decide to kidnap all the donkeys on the Greek Isle where they are vacationing. 158 pages, illustrated by Robin Jacques, 5-1/2" X 8". Dust jacket is not price clipped, original price of $4.50 is printed on the top corner of the front flap - though it does have a diagonal clip at the bottom corner of the front flap. Jacket has edge wear, short tears at the edges, wear to the tips of the corners. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Mustard yellow cloth covered boards, with the title/author name on the spine and illustration on the front panel. Yellow colored top-stain does not appear to be faded. There's a few dots of age tanning/foxing on the edges of the text. Binding is tight and square. This is not a library discard copy. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
