Quite a rare title, First edition, first printing tidy ex-lib hardcover in red paper covered boards with black title and wide-brimmed western hat illustration on backstrip. Spine ends and upper tips bumped but not rubbed, lower tips still sharp. An occasional light fingerprint in margins and several library stamps throughout the 160 pp text. Unclipped color illustrated dust wrapper has small rubs at spine ends/corner of backstrip and panels and a hint of color loss at this same corner: where backstrip meets up with frt and rear panels but the jacket displays beautifully in new mylar . However, the dead man kept a close-guarded secret beyond the grave, and Cactus Jim Clancy had to solve a curious mystery before he could bring happiness into the life of lovely Lynn Chancy.
