93 pages + 8 engraved plates and 16 page publishers catalogue at rear. Original blind stamped cloth, bevelled edges, gilt titles along spine, spine thin and just starting to split and a bit worn at edges, inscription to half-title "A merry geste (old french for tale) of an alterroppe, (Latin?) that lived-Then title- For Adrian & Mac from uncle Joe Feb 1868". The plates depict the various creatures living in pools and streams in both larvae and adult form. A lovely scarce instructional book for young readers 6-10. Small book, easily held by a child. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.
